- Q How many hours of education does the
prospective licensee need to take if they are licensed in
another state.
- A The prospective licensee needs to take the
balance of the education from a total of 90 hours. Example: A
California licensee took 45 hours of
principles.
(90- 45 = 45) This licensee would have to take 45 hours of
practices.
(This 45 hours of practices must Include 18 hours of Nevada
Law)
- Q What education counts and what education does not
count?
- A Education received from other states must be in the
required Nevada pre licensing subjects before the any of the
Nevada education can be waved. Example: An Illinois licensee has
taken over 300 hours of continuing education to maintain her
Illinois license. Only education titled Principles and or
Practices can count for part of the whole educational
requirement. (Most continuing education classes do not count
toward the Nevada pre licensing requirement)
- Q What test do out of state licensees take to become
licensed in the state of Nevada?
- A After completing the educational requirement for the
prospective licensee, the individual must take and pass both
portions of the Nevada real estate examination. (Prospective
licensees may wave the national portion of the two part test
only if they have take the test in another of the 50 states with
in the last year)
- Q Where can a prospective licensee get the course they
need?
- A Key Realty School offers classes to meet the 18 Hour
Nevada Law requirement, the 45 Hour Nevada law requirement, the
45 Hour Principles requirement, or the whole 90 Hour principles
and practices course. (See the home page for your specific
