The state of Nevada recognizes the 15 hour USPAP course taught by non certified instructors for the requirement of USPAP to begin the state mandated internship. The state of Nevada will not recognize the 15 hour USPAP course taught by non certified instructors for the requirement of USPAP to activate the state license.

Aside from the course completion certificates, students completing the USPAP course are sent letters noting the completion of the course as well as the status of the instructor for internship or licensed application with the state. This form is the USPAP verification form.

Click here to see the USPAP course verification form.    ***Approximately 50% of the students taking the pre internship education never received this verification form because the student did not complete or pass the USPAP course in the manner required to obtain the verification. Students never receiving any verification form must take the USPAP course over again before activating the state licensed, certified or general status. This information page is NOT applicable to students never receiving the USPAP verification form as these students must take the USPAP course over regardless of when the course was completed.

This USPAP course verification form allowed some applicants to apply for licensed statuses above internship because it was incorrectly marked under the State Certified Appraiser section. The course taken was taught in intern preparation and therefore should not note “Yes” in this section. Many students were sent a letter making reference to the mistake made on this form,  but these re take sessions have been put in place to rectify the confusion created by the course verification form.

Approximately 250 students have been issued this document in error and will not be allowed to use it for license, certified or general status. Key Realty School has been approved to offer 15 hour USPAP Retake sessions at no cost for the students with incorrect forms. Q Why has it took so long to notify me?

A The error and document misprint was found during an internal audit and was not found until May of 2005. The possible resolution was not solidified until October 1 2005. These documents are not printed by Key Realty School, but the school will provide all affected students with as many opportunities to comply with the state guidelines as possible.

Q What if I did not take my USPAP course with Key Realty School?

A Students who have taken the course with many different educational facilities have been affected by this misprint and therefore Key Realty School will welcome any student noted on list to take the retake session at no cost.  

Q Do I have to take this retake session if my name is on the list?

A No, only students noted on the list who are electing to use the 15 hour USPAP course certificate to apply for licensed, certified or general status purposes need to take the retake session.

Q What is the difference between the course that I took and the retake course?

A The curriculum, the subject matter and the materials are identical to internship prep  education, but the instructor must have a certified status issued by Nevada to offer education toward licensed, certified or general status.

Q What if I cannot take the retake course on the dates listed?

A Key Realty School has set aside specific dates to offer the free retake sessions. If a student can not attend one of the three make up sessions, Key Realty School can allow the student to audit future USPAP dates at no cost only by requesting the future date at least 1 month in advance. Q Do I have to take the 15 hour USPAP test again?

A If your name is on the error list and you wish to receive credit toward any status other than internship, you must take the 15 hour USPAP course again (at no cost) and you must take and pass the 15 hour USPAP course test to receive a new certificate. You have three different attempts to pass the USPAP test. If you do not pass in the three attempts, you can take the 15 hour USPAP course again until the test has been passed and the measures to receive the new certificate have been completed.
