4.       Policies of Nevada Real Estate Pre Licensing

4.1.      Real Estate Pre Licensing is defined as any course taken prior to the activation of any Nevada Real Estate License: Salesperson, Broker, or Broker Salesperson.

4.2.      Entrance requirements: Students must be at least 18 years of age for admission to this course. Students must also be willing to comply with the policies presented in this document.

4.3.      The maximum occupancy of the real estate pre licensing course is at the sole discretion of the admissions offices. Therefore admissions is done on a first come, first serve basis. Students repeating any subject must surrender their space in the class, only if the class is full (definition of full is determined by the admissions office based on the seats available in the classroom setting). The admissions office will use the effective start date noted on the enrollment form to determine which repeating students must relinquish their space in the classroom setting.

4.4.      The Nevada Real Estate pre licensing course can be completed via classroom or home study.

4.4.1.           All real estate students are considered home study students as classroom attendance is not recorded.

4.4.1.1.      If a student decides that classroom instruction would benefit their ability to transfer education to other states and would be more viable, the student may re enroll as a classroom student for no additional fee. Classroom enrollment must be done a separate enrollment form. Hours taken do not count toward a classroom completion certificate unless the student is completing the required sign in sheets and the student has made specific arrangements with the admissions office to be noted as a classroom student.

4.4.1.2.      Home study students are required to complete and pass examinations and all required evaluations to obtain certificates. See testing section 14.5

4.4.1.2.1.              The passing grade on any quiz or exam is 75% or greater.

4.4.1.3.      Only students requesting or students who are required to have attendance recorded are considered classroom students.

4.4.1.3.1.              Students who are listed as classroom students must attend 90 clock hours before students can obtain the certificate of education.

4.4.1.3.2.              Classroom students may be required to visit the admissions office on a weekly basis to discuss attendance toward the required hours.

4.4.1.3.3.              Classroom students must clearly indicate classroom attendance on the original enrollment agreement or specifically change their enrollment to classroom in the admissions office of the school without penalty. The hours of education for classroom instruction will not be counted until an attendance log is started with the admissions office.

4.4.2.           Real Estate Students have the ability to repeat any subject at anytime at no additional cost to the student.

4.4.2.1.      The ability to repeat any course is only available while Key Realty School is able to offer or is scheduled to offer the course.

4.4.2.2.      The real estate pre licensing course is traditionally designed to be four calendar weeks (excluding holidays periods noted in the school calendar). Therefore, any education taken after the four week period is considered repeating course subjects regardless of attendance during the scheduled four week set.

4.4.2.3.      Repeating students are considered to be auditing the subject for no additional credit

4.4.2.3.1.              Though the class is rarely considered completely full, auditing students are not guaranteed a space within the course. The course space is always allocated to the students currently attending the original four week cycle.

4.4.3.           Beginning and ending of courses:  The Pre-Licensing Course begins on Monday and continues on a rotating schedule for the duration of the course.  Academic breaks are taken periodically throughout the year.  The student is given a complete calendar of breaks and holidays at the time of enrollment.  Calendars for any course are available online or from the admissions office.

4.4.4.           Instructions and fees:  Students will be required to pay all fees for the course at the time of admission.  US citizens and permanent residents in possession of a permanent immigration visa should complete the registration/enrollment form in full, and then date and sign it while within the Administration office.  All information provided to Key Realty School by the student becomes the property of Key Realty School and no information other than student name and address will be given to anyone other than the student providing the information unless otherwise noted on the registration/enrollment form.  Admission or registration based on any misrepresentation of the student may result in cancellation of admission and/or enrollment without the possibility of refund.

4.4.5.           Non-English speaking students are responsible for their own interpretation of material and instruction.  All instruction and materials will be provided in English.  Study aids are available in other languages and are available at an additional cost.

4.4.6.           Students are required to apply for admission allowing enough time to complete the required hours of the course under the provision that one may only study a maximum of eight (8) hours per calendar day.  Calendar hours are considered when scheduling a home-study course or classroom course and course completion is not granted before the calendar hours of the course have expired. Example: Student O enrolls in the 90 hour real estate pre licensing course. Student O must wait a minimum of 12 calendar days before student O can test out of the subject. (12 X 8 = > 90 hours of education) This eight hour maximum is applicable to all increments of hours toward real estate pre licensing.

4.4.7.           The Nevada Real Estate Division governs the application and educational recognition process. Therefore, Key Realty School recommends that the student has any and all prior education assessed by the Nevada Real Estate Division in writing to guarantee the acceptance of any prior education toward licensing application.

4.4.7.1.      Though Key Realty School prides itself in the most current information supplied by both written and verbal information provided to students, requirements and or laws may change that require more or less educational course work than originally enrolled in.

4.5.      The process of completing the requirements to apply for a Nevada real estate license may require the student to take a state sanctioned exam with a testing facility that has no business or financial relationship with Key Realty School. Though Key Realty School prides itself in its awareness of the testing company’s policies and procedures, the school is not responsible for the lack disclosure or lack of performance in anyway by the testing service. Key Realty School strongly recommends that all students thoroughly examine all testing policies of any external company prior to enrolling for an examination.

4.6.      The classroom instructor may implement classroom conduct policies through verbal explanation or through written policy that is not noted in this catalog of policies and procedures. Students may visit the admissions office to discuss or resolve any problem pertaining to additional classroom guidelines set by the instructor. These additional guidelines may include but are not limited to: Cell phone use, use of electronic devices, excessive talking, tardiness, seating arrangements, and parking.

12.1.    Home Study courses require the student email questions pertaining to course curriculum to the school. This insures that an instructor will answer the questions in the most efficient manner possible. Home Study students may not ask curriculum questions of the admissions counselors or other office staff because they may not be trained and or educated to answer these questions.

12.2.     Home Study courses must be completed within one year of the original enrollment. If a student does not complete the course by passing the final exam within the one year allotment, the student must re enroll in the course and pay the entire tuition amount to receive credit for the course. The student will be given a new current set of course materials and must abide by the course policies as if they were starting the course for the first time.

12.3.   Home study students can not complete more than 8 hours of education per day. Example: The 90 hour pre licensing course can not be completed in anything less than 12 calendar days.

12.4.    Key Realty School is not responsible for updating course materials for courses that have been modified during the home study process. Therefore, Key Realty School recommends completing the course in the quickest time reasonably possible to avoid these changes.

13.    Credit for Previous Training

13.1.     Key Realty School is authorized to provide credit for previous training when the course in question is through Key Realty School.

13.2.    Credit will not be issued for partially completed courses that are no longer offered.

13.3.    Key Realty School is not an approving authority for previous education waivers from other schools in other states.  Students who feel they may/should receive partial or complete credit for previous education must contact the Nevada Real Estate Division for authorized approval.

13.4.    Students are required to notify the school of their education needs and are reminded that Key Realty School is not responsible for incorrect or misunderstood requirements for education.
