REALTORS® are required to complete ethics training within four-year cycles. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by the National Association of REALTORS®.
The current four-year cycle will end Dec. 31, 2016 and therefore members of NAR and their local associations within must satisfy this requirement by December 31 2016.
Specific Ethics courses taken through Key Realty School completed after July 20th 2016 but prior to December 31 2016 will qualify for the completion/ will satisfy the quadrennial ethics requirement.
Though all ethics courses are approved by that state department as the designation of ethics, not all ethics courses are approved by NAR to meet the quadrennial ethics requirement.
The following Key Realty School courses will meet the quadrennial ethics requirement:
- Examining the Code of Ethics
- Ethics in Business
The aforementioned courses can be taken within or outside of a renewal package.
Though Key Realty School will report the completion of said courses to NAR. It remains the responsibility of the member / licensee to supply their local association with the certificate of education for the course completed. All students completed said course work should retain a copy of the certificate wherein the certificate can be easily supplied to NAR or a local association if ever called upon.
NOTE: The quadrennial ethics course is not required as part of the licensees required state continuing education and is only required to maintain an active NAR membership. Licensees who are not NAR members are not required to complete this course.
